Group Project
This is the final project for our epc subject. We are required to choose a chapter and explain the chapter through comic or script. I was a member of Tan Ming Long's group and we decided to draw a comic explaining conflict and negotiations. Our reference for the comic was Larva. We used the characters from the Larva and create a story line of our own. The name for the comic was I-Larva. This comic was about the conflict between the two larva, which is the red larva and the yellow larva. In the end, they both gain nothing but loss throughout the conflict. In the comic, we applied the principles of communication and behaviour in analyzing interaction with others. For example, how the red larva negotiate and communicate with the yellow larva. Besides that, we also are aware of the importance of cultural differences and respect cultural differences as well as to build healthy and positive relationships with fellow students, co-workers and clients. Throughout the assignment, we worked together as a team. Everyone of us were working our own part and in the end put our works together to become a group project. I felt that the outcome was good and we also learned much from this assignment.
Individual Essay
This assignment requires us to write an essay. We are given four topics on this essay and were asked to choose only one. Therefore, I decided to choose question 1.
Below is the question.
1. Despite great technological advances and more exposure to people of other cultures, divisions between people of different cultures at times seems to have only intensified. Is it at all possible to move toward a world which has greater intercultural understanding and tolerance? Examine the issues of ethnocentrism and stereotyping that you have encountered and how we might be able to solve these problems. Focus on issues that are current in your country or in the media.
At first, I regretted for choosing question 1 because I found that the question was too tough for me. I then struggled writing the essay. When I was writing the essay, I kept on refer back to the epc textbook to see which theory should I apply in the essay. In the end, I manage to apply the principles of communication and behaviour in analyzing interaction with others in my essay. Besides that, I also learned to analyse and response to handling conflict as well as efficient negotiation skills in dealing with variety of individuals. Although this was a tough assignment for me, but I managed to learn something from it.

Class Test
This is our first test in effective public communication. This test tests our understanding on the epc textbook of chapter 3,4,5 and 6. We are also required to study the video that Mr.Woon played during the class. The video was about the body language and micro-expressions. After this test, I was able to explain the concepts of communication, both verbal and nonverbal, and how people behave and communicate in different situations. This is because some of it can be studied from the textbook and others can be found in the video that we are required to study. Although I didn't really do well in the exam, but I still learned a lot throughout this subject.
